ANDROMACHE WILL REPRESENT CYPRUS AT THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2022 WITH THE CATCHY “ELA”
By: Bardh Krasniqi
Cyprus recently confirmed that the artist, who’ll represent the nation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, is Andromache with her marvelous entry, called “Ela” which means “come”. Andromache is a rising star in Greece and is known for her etherial take on Greek folk music. An ethnic-pop cut, “Ela” was released together with an undeniable beauty and sensual visual. It transports the audience straight to the beautiful island of Cyprus.
You surely must be wondering what she had to do with Albanian music, right? Well, let us take a look at the team behind this authentic cut. Cyprus is counting on a distinguished international team of composers led by Eurovision alumni Alex Papaconstantinou and Arash, along with well-known Kosovo-Albanian artists Fatjon Miftari, Fifi and Yll Limani. The track’s international touch is reflected in the fusion of modern European production with Balkan instrumentation, combining the sounds of the Greek bouzouki and Albanian fyell brezi. So coooool! We truly support cultural inclusion and are excited to see Andromache sing this beauty at Eurovision.
